SATURDAY RUN *UPDATE
It’s getting hotter outside, and we’re tailoring our Saturday runs to support those who are training for a half-marathon or marathon race while maintaining our support for those still building their running practice. This means 1—the miles for our longer distance groups will change each week, and 2—we’re offering staggard start times.
We will continue to offer three mileage options each Saturday: long, middle, and short distances.
Our long-distance group is well-suited for those preparing for a marathon-length distance (such as DRC’s District 19 19-Miler or Marine Corps Marathon).
Our middle-distance group will work well for those preparing for a half marathon-length distance (such as DRC’s District-19 19K or DC Half Marathon).
Our short-distance option is ideal for those who are new to running and seeking to build their running consistency.
The mileage for our long—and middle-distance groups will vary from week to week. These two groups will meet at 6:30 a.m. and take off at 7:00 a.m. every Saturday. We’ll announce the distance for these two groups on Thursdays via social media.
The mileage for our short-distance group will remain approximately 3 miles every week and will meet at 8:00 a.m. and take off at 8:30 a.m.
