Event Details
Come REACH out and run at the Kennedy Center! Join us for the inaugural JF(5)K, a 5K inspired run/walk on the Kennedy Center grounds Saturday, June 29th, 2024, for a morning of fitness, fun, and community. After crossing the finish line, stick around for post-race festivities including a DJ, food trucks, vendors, arts market, and outdoor games until noon. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting your fitness journey, the JF(5)K welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities to come together for a morning of fun and achievement.
The event is free and open to the public, though advance registration is required.
About the Race
The JF(5)K is entirely located on the Kennedy Center grounds starting at 8:00 am on the REACH Plaza powered by premier run crew, and Kennedy Center Culture Caucus member, District Running Collective (DRC). Participants will loop the building and grounds five times to complete the 5k. The course will start and end at the same location and there will be course markers along the way to guide you.

Packet Pick-up
Advance packet pick-up will be held at the Kennedy Center on Friday, June 28th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Grand Foyer. Day of packet-pick up will begin at 7:00 am on the North Plaza. Please plan to arrive early to accommodate for wait times.

Safety Rules
All participants MUST sign a liability waiver to run the course.
On race day, ensure your bib is visible and attached to the outermost shirt/top or pant/bottom.
Be aware of your surroundings and if listening to music during the race, please consider leaving one earbud out of your ear to ensure you can hear and notice any activity.
Always follow pedestrian rules.
Be careful of potholes and other obstructions on the course and at the start and finish. Be considerate of other community members utilizing the same path and roads as you.
Water will be available at hydration stations.
