18 Quarantine Activities
During these unprecedented times, we decide to do what we do and focus on our community and spread good vibes. To all the essential workers in DRC and around the world that are working endlessly so that we can get through this, THANK YOU. We appreciate you and genuinely wish you safety for your daily courageous efforts.
This has been an adjustment for all and having us reflect on what matters most: the people in our lives. Do we miss seeing the faces of fellow runners, family, and friends in person? Absolutely. This has been a hard transition for many because of its abruptness, yet it has also brought us closer to those who mean the most to us. DRC is family and the simple text, Facetime, or Zoom meeting with those within the family are encouraging and uplifting and make us realize that we got each other no matter what. Aside from talking to the homies and fam, there are other activities that you can be doing during this time. Here are a few suggestions:
Read / listen to a book. You can start a virtual book club.
Home workouts. There are 1000s of workout videos on Youtube, as well as Pinterest.
Relax. This is very important, especially after the mayhem we have been experiencing.
Clean and declutter. All your race shirts and shoes can now find a permanent place.
Cook + bake. Look for yummy, interesting recipes or try that recipe you have been wanting too.
Organize. You know there is a pile in your place that you have been avoiding, now is the time.
Self-care. This is the best time for self-care and the options are of many. Put a mask on, paint your nails, do a hair mask, do a scrub, take a bubble bath, etc.
Write. This is also a good time to start a bullet journal, a diary, and meditate on something that’s worrying you.
Start a hobby.
Pray or lean into spirituality. Whatever that means for you. This is a great time to speak to your higher power. The world needs healing.
Create a vision board. What do you want for the rest of 2020?
Write a bucket list.
Adult coloring.
Start a blog
Play a board game with the people in your house.
Go for a walk or run with the dogs – somewhere that you will not come into contact with anyone else.
Do an online course or certification. Try coding course you never had time for.
Update your CV, resume and LinkedIn Accounts.
Look for something positive in each day, even if in some days you have to look harder. We can and will get through this together.
